Will the new Nissan Navara Pro come to Ireland?

New Navara Pro launches this year, and it may come to Europe

Nissan has shown off its new Navara Pro pickup truck, set to launch in the Mexican market and roll out across Latin America, the Middle East, and Australia and New Zealand in the coming year.

Will the Navara Pro come to Ireland? That’s a good question, and we don’t have a firm answer yet. Nissan Ireland has said it’s ‘hopeful’ the Navara Pro will come here, but there’s no official confirmation yet. The Navara Pro (Frontier Pro in some markets) hasn’t been confirmed for European sales yet, and if it does come to Europe, it won’t be until later in 2027 at the earliest.

What capability does the Navara Pro have?

In the proposed European specification, the Navara Pro will offer 1.5- or 2.0-litre plug-in hybrid powertrains, four-wheel drive, and vehicle-to-load charging so power tools and other electrical devices can be charged and powered by the truck’s hybrid battery. Nissan hasn’t released a full technical specification for the Navara Pro yet. It’s estimated to have a payload capacity of 1,000kg and a maximum towing capacity of 3,500kg.

Where is the new Nissan Navara Pro made?

That’s where it gets interesting. The Navara Pro is made by Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile, which is a joint venture between Nissan and Chinese car maker Dongfeng. The Navara Pro will be the first Chinese-made Nissan sold outside China, followed by the sleek N7 electric saloon, though for now that’s only going to be sold in Latin America and Oceania.

As the Navara Pro is a plug-in hybrid, it means that, for now, it ducks the extra tariffs that the EU places on electric vehicles made in China, which potentially strengthens its chances of coming to Europe and Ireland.
