Kia is launching its first-ever mid-size commercial van, and it’s coming to Ireland in November. The PV5 is a fully-electric commercial vehicle with a 71kWh battery.
What kind of range does it have?
The PV5’s 71kWh battery should give a range of up to 416km on the WLTP test, and the car’s E-GMP.S (Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service) platform is capable of fast-charging, so you can do a 10-80 per cent top-up in around 30 minutes. Power comes from a 120kW (160hp) motor driving the front wheels.

What variants are there?
The Kia PV5 is available in long-wheelbase, standard-height versions at first, or L2/H1, with other variants, including high-roof L1/H1 and L2/H2 versions coming soon. The PV5 will come in two-seat Cargo or five-seat passenger models from November, with the twin-sliding door Passenger version being of particular interest to taxi operators. A stretched seven-seat Passenger version will follow in 2026.

What are the Kia PV5’s cargo-carrying capabilities?
In two-seat commercial Cargo form, the PV5 can carry up to 790kg of payload and up to 4.4-dm3 of cargo volume. Cargo models get twin sliding side doors, and twin ‘barn’ doors at the back with detachable hinges.
How much is the new Kia PV5?
The Kia PV5 Cargo will start from €33,230 (ex-VAT), with Passenger variants starting from €42,550. Standard equipment includes twin side-opening doors, LED headlights, digital key, air conditioning, heated seats and steering wheel, front and rear parking sensors, towbar wiring, Highway Driving Assist (HDA) and Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS) at a competitive starting price of just €33,230.

Additionally, the K4 models feature ventilated cloth and leather seats, 360° Surround View Monitor (SVM), Blind-spot View Monitors (BVM), electric folding mirrors and Blind-spot Collision Avoidance Assist with a starting price of €35,100. The PV5 Passenger is available exclusively in the K4 trim, which features all the elements of the K4 Cargo, including full vegan leather seats, electric tailgate and heated rear seats for a retail price of €42,550. All PV5 models are available with 3.9 per cent APR finance, with 3.9 per cent PCP finance available on the Passenger model also.
When can I buy one?
The first PV5s should be in Ireland in November, and Kia is establishing a dedicated network of specific PBV Centres (PBV stands for Platform Beyond Vehicle, and it’s Kia’s strategy to break into the lucrative commercial vehicle market), and there will be nine of those across Ireland. Specifically, those are: Joe Duffy - North Road, Dublin 11; Johnson & Perrott - Douglas Road, Cork; Nyhan Motors - Bandon, Co. Cork; Hinchys - Ennis Road, Limerick; Hinchys - Garryspillane, Co. Limerick; Edward Conway Motors - Castlebar, Co. Mayo; Sheridan Waterford Ltd. - Waterford; Newgate Motor Group - Navan, Co. Meath; McElligotts Tralee Ltd. - Tralee, Co. Kerry.

“The start of PV5 sales is a milestone not only for us here in Ireland but also for our wider strategy to drive electrification across Europe,” said Ronan Flood, Managing Director of Kia Ireland. “From adaptive configurations to impressive digital features to and intelligent connectivity, the PV5 delivers a dynamic, forward-thinking solution for both businesses and private customers alike.”
