Kia is expanding its range of commercial vehicles with the unveiling of the PV7, a larger model to sit alongside the existing PV5. It features a similar design and is built using Kia’s E-GMP.S platform architecture.
There will be two battery options available for the PV7: a 71.5kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery and a larger capacity 96.2kWh battery. Maximum power output is rated at 272hp and 420Nm, going to the front wheels. Kia is planning to add a dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant in the future. The PV7 Long Range Cargo has a driving range in excess of 460 kilometres in the WLTP cycle.
The PV7 uses an advanced 800-volt electric architecture to enable rapid charging. With a 350kW DC charger, the PV7 will be able to recharge its battery from 10 to 80 per cent in the high-20-minute range. This capability will help to reduce vehicle downtime.
Another innovation for a Kia is the availability of dual charging ports for the first time. In addition to the front AC/DC charging port, there will be the option of a rear-side AC charging port. The aim of this feature is to provide greater convenience and flexibility when the need to charge arises.
Cargo capacity in the Kia PV7
Kia has designed the PV7 with logistics, delivery, fleet and both small- and medium-sized businesses in mind. The Cargo Long model offers up to 6.1 m³ of cargo space (VDA standard), while the Cargo High Roof provides up to 8.0 m³. Maximum payload capacity is rated at 1,165 kg for the Long and 1,200 kg for the Compact variant. With the Long model, there is a convenient 550 mm loading height and capacity for up to three Euro pallets (800 × 1,200 mm).
Buyers will be able to specify floor materials to suit their needs, and there will also be the choice of a full-open twin-swing tailgate or a lift-up tailgate. A Smart Walk Away function can close the powered sliding door automatically when the driver walks away from the van with the smart key.

Kia will also be offering the PV7 in a passenger variant with up to nine seats and a variety of seating configurations. A seven-seat model features Long-Rail Easy Remove Seats to make it easier and faster to add or remove seats as required. In the nine-seat version, a fourth row is available, and all versions offer rear climate controls for passenger comfort and the fitment of 100W USB-C charging ports.
