Jungheinrich goes electric for new van fleet.

Warehouse solutions provider Jungheinrich Ireland has taken delivery of a new fleet of 14 electric Opel Vivaro-e vans as part of the company’s drive to reduce its transport emissions and environmental impact.

Commenting on the collection of the new fleet, Conrad Mc Gonagle of Jungheinrich Ireland said: “We are delighted to take delivery of these new all-electric Opel Vivaro Electric workhorses. The combination of power and efficiency make them ideal for our engineers’ requirements while helping us to substantially reduce our overall transport emissions.”

The Opel Vivaro-e vans that Jungheinrich Ireland has chosen are equipped with a 75kWh battery that provides a driving range of more than 340 kilometres and is powered by a 136hp motor. Alongside its 11kW AC charging, the Opel is also capable of 100kW peak DC charging speeds, meaning it can recharge its battery to 80 per cent in 45 minutes.

Two lengths are available across two specification grades: Komfort and Sportive, with pricing that starts at €51,995, including the applicable SEAI grant. Since its introduction, the Opel Vivaro-e has become one of the most popular electric vans in Ireland, with more than 730 units registered to date.

“Opel has been proud to be Jungheinrich’s vehicle partner over many years, and we are very happy to continue our relationship into the Electric Vehicle era,” said Fergal Marron, head of Fleet for Opel Ireland. “With both 11kW AC and 100kW DC fast-charging capabilities, for efficiency and speed respectively, Jungheinrich engineers can ensure they maximise their time meeting with their customers. We look forward to continuing to support Jungheinrich’s road to net zero emissions with our range of fully electric vans and cars over the years to come.”
